Welcome!

Welcome to Volunteer Connections, our new blog from Volunteer Services!

The idea for this blog came from my family listening to my stories about our volunteers. They encouraged me to create a blog, especially since I was looking for a way to share stories more frequently than through our monthly Volunteer Visions publication. A blog seemed like the perfect solution.

I intend for this to be an informal opportunity to make readers more aware of the variety of wonderful things that our volunteers are doing as you touch people's lives every day on campus (while also ensuring resident privacy) - and to give you a voice.  A key aspect of a blog that I hope will appeal to you is your ability to interact by commenting on the information that I post for readers. I interacted with my daughters' blogs as I followed their travels, and I appreciated the ease of that interaction. Feel free to provide your feedback about your volunteer experiences, the people you meet, and how your time on campus with residents and staff touches your life.

In addition, this blog will keep you informed about the Volunteer Services program, volunteer needs on campus and volunteerism in general.

I invite you to become a follower (see right sidebar) and bookmark Volunteer Connections for quick access. Visit frequently. Share your thoughts. I hope that this blog will be easy, fun and informative for everyone.

Welcome to our online volunteer community!
